The Little Prince
The Little Prince was written in 1943 by the French poet and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Translated into 270 languages, and selling a million copies per year, it is one of the best-selling books ever published.
The fable begins as a pilot lands in the Sahara Desert. He befriends the Little Prince, from Asteroid B-612, who relates his search for what is important in life. The Little Prince learns the secret from a wise Fox, which he passes on to the pilot:
"the essential is invisible to the eye, one can only see clearly with the heart."
